Where Roses Melt into the Air…

Your arms, they gently shelter me
From blame, and fear, and misery
You understand what others don’t
You saw my need which others won’t

You give me peace in hardships now
You ease my pain and touch somehow
The deepest depths inside of me
Indeed, my love, you’ve set me free

To climb the mountains by your side
To bridge the gap where there’s divide
To care for wounds of these depressed
Who suffer until they are blessed

In Heaven with YOU…

Susanne in Heaven (Photo by Paul Schuberth)

Somebody asked me, “What will be
After this life, what shall I see?
Am I then merely pure essence?
Or does my life still make some sense?
Where is my past, is it all gone?
Or do I still feel what’s my own?
Without my body, who am I?
What really happens when I die?
Who’s got the answers, the reply?”
My friend, now I feel rather shy

Since, indeed, I once was near to death
For some time been sheer out of breath
Before I had a lot of pain
But suddenly there was no chain
To hold me back in this frail body
Which I thought to be only shoddy
I swiftly was pulled all out of me
But still had a body I could see
That body, yet, it felt no aches
Was perfect, weightless, without brakes

A New Life

Ripening Plums (Photo by Susanne Schuberth)

Hell-bent in search of excellence
A certain guy, let’s call him Lance
Decided to sit on the fence
He did not want to fail his fans

Once someone has been on the top
He is afraid to be a flop
And clutches at a straw to prop
The set of lies he cannot stop

Not only men like that do fear
To always drive in bottom gear
Because of public in the rear
Which focuses so close and near

God’s Love for You

The psalms reveal that God relates
To human beings and their fates
For those with broken hearts and more
He is all comfort to the core

Although this world seems to go down
His Word is sure, no need to frown
Whoever does rely on Him
His eyes will nevermore grow dim

Despite all pain, struggle and strife
The Bread from Heaven gives us life
By pouring Love into our heart
So in communion we take part

Grace Always Prevails

Water Lilies (Photo by Paul Schuberth)

There is a grace for us to keep
That is for children who are sheep
It flows right from the heart of God
Compells us to do what we ought

Though there is still a yoke to bear
This grace empowers us to share
His love that is for everyone
Poured out solely by His Son

MY TESTIMONY

The 1970’s: My childhood with God
The first ecstatic experience with God – at school

If there was something I really hated in my school days, then it was doing pieces of needlework. Ugh!
On a hot summer day in July I sat sweating and squirming next to my more talented classmates in the attic of our old schoolhouse which was heated up like a sauna. The needle between my fingers slipped more than once over the fabric and the cross stitches I produced were anything but decent. Looking to my friends, I saw that they were almost ready and that their works looked terrific.

Since I have always been a perfectionist, I felt stressed. “Hurry up!” the teacher said, “there are only ten minutes left.”
Silently Susanne prayed, “Please, dear God, help me!”
Alas, nothing extraordinary happened.
I tried everything I could, but I was too slow. Sweating and almost weeping, I startled up as the teacher urged, “Just two minutes to go!”
My second prayer was not as polite as the first one. “Dear God, You MUST help me!!!”
What happened then?
A miracle.

The Beloved of God

Churches in Salzburg (Photo by Paul Schuberth)

Churches in Salzburg (Photo by Paul Schuberth)

There is a church that is unseen
It has no building, pew or screen
To display things of churchly life
Instead, this church is called His wife

You join that church by entering
Into Christ through surrendering
All that you have and what you are
To Jesus who’s the Morning Star

He’ll strip your self off from the heart
And nakedness will be the start
Of fellowship you didn’t know
As long as you sat in a row

The Flow of Love

There is a river deep inside
Where precious pearls of love abide
They wait for you to get them out
You’ll be enraptured, have no doubt

Approach the shore, leave all behind
Be sure that God’s love will be kind
To show you what it’s all about
And how to dig these gems there out

Just go in before fog will rise
Since Satan lurks there in disguise
And he will tell you, “That’s not true!
Do you think this is Heaven’s dew?”

Embracing the Fire

Fire Love (04 Galaxy Note - Wallpaper)

Fire Love (04 Galaxy Note – Wallpaper)

Be captured by sheer flames of Him
Who fills His vessels to the brim
With burning passion, love, and more
And wounds their hearts down to the core

Enabling them to embrace love
That flows in rivers from above
Flooding and sealing those who keep
These treasured pearls in their hearts deep

Eternal fire might consume
Grave, desert, and the barren womb
Till Heaven’s gates have opened up
And rivers flow to fill the cup

With all that makes our life worthwhile
With ecstasy beyond the aisle
Since there’s no marriage here on earth
That could display this union’s worth
