The Lord’s Love

We feel there’s something missing in our life
As long as we face pain and grief and strife
Call it the mystery many men seek
Because it is a secret hidden deep
Alas, we cannot touch it open-eyed
As long as what we see is not denied
Indeed, our hearts alone know where’s the key
That opens up the door of mystery
Listen, and hear Him knock from the outside
Onto your inmost entrance to confide
To you the greatest love that does exist
For sure, you will be hugged, you will be kissed

By Jesus who will firmly take your hand
And guide you in His Kingdom’s promised land
You need not wait until you’ve passed away
Since He will be your living hideaway
From life’s distractions and from fear and stress
He wants to give you gifts you’d never guess
All things imagined plus all love on earth
Compared with His love have no worth
God is the Lover of our souls who shares
His blissful, tender, passionate love and cares
For all His children, and for you and me
Until we join Him in this love and see
That there’s no need for dispute any more
When we are one in Him down to the core
We can love each other as He loves us
In His Spirit we’re all together – thus

“By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:35 ESV)
