In Heaven with YOU…

Somebody asked me, “What will be
After this life, what shall I see?
Am I then merely pure essence?
Or does my life still make some sense?
Where is my past, is it all gone?
Or do I still feel what’s my own?
Without my body, who am I?
What really happens when I die?
Who’s got the answers, the reply?”
My friend, now I feel rather shy

Since, indeed, I once was near to death
For some time been sheer out of breath
Before I had a lot of pain
But suddenly there was no chain
To hold me back in this frail body
Which I thought to be only shoddy
I swiftly was pulled all out of me
But still had a body I could see
That body, yet, it felt no aches
Was perfect, weightless, without brakes

And I could fly as fast as light
To Him who drew me at first sight
Into His white and golden Light
That shines throughout the space so bright
Although I think I was not long
In God’s real presence which was strong
I was as blissful as can be
Been fully drunk in Love’s Light Sea
As sudden as this flight began
It all stopped then which was His plan

Albeit this happened many moons ago
It was the best our dear Lord could bestow
For I have a longing since that time
To get there again and thus I rhyme
I do want to shine some bright drops of light
On God’s great Love so that no one takes fright
He gave us His Spirit who can show us today
That there’s nothing to fear for him who went astray
God can also be trusted in the depth of the night
If we lose sight of Him, He’ll sure make it all right

Susanne, what a life changing experience you have had! Not all of us get to have that, but God does change us in different ways and with different life experiences as He strips away from us all that lies between us and Him. There is a scripture that says, “No flesh shall see God and live.” It is so true. The biggest part of that stripping we have to go through that we might really see Him face to face, is the stripping away from us all that is still of the flesh, all that is of that old fallen nature. Integral to this stripping is that it opens us up so He can heal those festering wounds we all have deep down in our hearts that came upon us as we lived out our lives in the flesh. The Lord showed me years ago that when something happens to us that makes us react, it is an indicator that there is an unresolved issue in that area in our hearts and that He does this to bring them to the surface so we can see them and call out to Him to be healed of that old wound that makes us reactive. So, it would seem that we are saved as far as our eternity is concerned and we have the Holy Spirit in us as a witness to that. But we are still BEING saved as well as Father continues to remove all the obstacles in us that hold us back from being perfectly changed into the full image of Jesus Christ here on earth.
Love you, dear sister! Keep sharing your heart and life experiences with us…. good stuff!

      Thank you, Michael.

I fully agree with you that God leads us all on differents paths and in different ways. What all these various experiences have in common, though, is that they are led by the One who is THE WAY, Jesus Christ. The stripping process we have been experiencing is always painful – for the flesh. But at the same time our spirits start to rejoice because we may know the Lord and His goodness to a higher degree after another healing of an “old wound” that was hidden in our broken hearts.

You wrote, “The Lord showed me years ago that when something happens to us that makes us react, it is an indicator that there is an unresolved issue in that area in our hearts and that He does this to bring them to the surface so we can see them and call out to Him to be healed of that old wound that makes us reactive.”

So true! Particularly seemingly uncontrollable fits of anger point to the fact that we want to protect our heart from being hurt again. It seems to be better for the Old Adam and the Old Eve to shoot than to be shot. However, our gracious Lord nudges us to open our hearts and to really FEEL the pain that was caused many, many years ago. As painful as it is (feeling our sore heart), this is the only way to become whole regarding our soul and spirit. His light illuminates every dark spot in the cellar of our subconscious so that we might be able to walk and really LIVE in the light as He is in the light. For it is written,

“Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (Jn 8:12 ESV)

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” (Mt 5:14-16 ESV)

In Christ’s great love for you,
      Susanne
