Those who are aliens here on earth
Endure tormenting pangs of birth
They make the call to share their pains
Alas, the whore is bound in chains
She’s looking for applause of crowds
The prophets though are His ‘all-outs’
They call the stout to leave the wall
So they can hear the desert’s call
That calls for you and me, my friend
To leave that church which is a blend
Of truth and lies we might not see
And if we stay, we won’t get free
God calls us to the narrow path
So that we may escape His wrath
That is to come so very soon
When sun is darkened, and the moon
Where you can hear the weak one say
“He strengthened me, I’m on His way”
Don’t we reject the voice we hear
Through prophets’ words and by our ear
They urge us that we make our choice
And listen to His longing voice
The Lord’s still speaking to our heart
Because He wills that we take part
In joining them wholeheartedly
Who prayed to Him for eyes to see
The wickedness down to the core
Of Satan’s wife, his bride, his whore
See, all the years she took from Him
The fat, the wool, the sheep at whim
Still there is time for us to come
Unto the Lord before it’s done
The prophets who stand in the breach
Were called for us to pray and preach
Don’t we despise their words that hurt
Since Christ now wants to sift from dirt
If you like to watch a haunting video (made by my husband Paul) which I initially posted together with that poem above, you might check out one of my posts on Google+. The only difference you might see is that I added an apostrophe in the headline here.

Susanne,
Great poem about the hour we are in as God’s people… an hour in which there is strong delusion masquerading as His church. Here are some supporting passages from the Bible that should be understood, dear sister, that fit the hour we are in…
Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining. The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel [see Romans 2:28-29).
(Joel 3:14-16 KJ2000)
“So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sitting upon a scarlet colored beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet color, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her had full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. AND I SAW THE WOMAN DRUNKEN WITH THE BLOOD OF THE SAINTS AND THE BLOOD OF THE MARTYRS OF JESUS: and when I saw her, I wondered with great wonder. And the angel said unto me, Why did you marvel?… and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world… And here is the mind which has wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sits.”
(Revelation 17:3-9 KJ2000 – emphasis added)
Seven heads, Seven mountains, Seven women (see Isaiah 4:1), seven churches of Asia ending in the church of Laodicea who says to Jesus as He knocks on her door, “I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing.”
And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was made bright with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of demons, and the haunt of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have grown rich through the abundance of her luxury. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, COME OUT OF HER, MY PEOPLE, THAT YOU BE NOT PARTAKERS OF HER SINS, AND THAT YOU RECEIVE NOT OF HER PLAGUES. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities. Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she has filled, fill to her double. So much as she has glorified herself, and lived luxuriously, so much torment and sorrow give her: FOR SHE SAYS IN HERE HEART, ‘I SIT AS A QUEEN, AND AM NO WIDOW, AND SHALL SEE NO SORROW.’ Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judges her… Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is your judgment come. And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buys their merchandise any more: The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all citron wood, and all manner of vessels of ivory, and all manner of vessels of most precious wood, and of bronze, and iron, and marble, And cinnamon, and incense, and myrrh, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and cattle, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, . And the fruits that your soul lusted after are departed from you, and all things which were luxurious and splendid AND THE SOULS OF MEN ARE DEPARTED FROM YOU AND YOU WILL FIND THEM NO MORE at all. The merchants of these things, who were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing… Alas, alas, that great city, in which were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her wealth! for in one hour is she made desolate. Rejoice over her, you heaven, and you holy apostles and prophets; for God has avenged you on her. And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all. And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of flutists, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in you; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he may be, shall be found any more in you; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in you; And the light of a lamp shall shine no more at all in you; AND THE VOICE OF THE BRIDE AND THE BRIDEGROOM SHALL BE HEARD NO MORE AT ALL IN YOU: for your merchants were the great men of the earth; for by your sorceries were all nations deceived. And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.
(Revelation 18:1-24 KJ2000 – emphasis added).
Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of the LORD’S vengeance; he will render unto her a recompense. Babylon has been a golden cup in the LORD’S hand, that made all the earth drunk: the nations have drunk of her wine; therefore the nations are mad. Babylon is suddenly fallen and destroyed: wail for her; take balm for her pain, if so be she may be healed. [and for you who think you can save the church system which put men as its heads…] WE WOULD HAVE HEALED BABYLON, BUT SHE IS NOT HEALED: forsake her, and let us go everyone into his own country: for her judgment reaches unto heaven, and is lifted up even to the skies. THE LORD HAS BROUGHT FORTH OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS: COME, AND LET US DECLARE IN ZION THE WORK OF THE LORD OUR GOD!
(Jeremiah 51:6-10 KJ2000 – emphasis added)
And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man [Jesus Christ], saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by your name, to take away our reproach. IN THAT DAY SHALL THE BRANCH [see John 15:5 and Zech. 6:11-13) OF THE LORD BE BEAUTIFUL AND GLORIOUS, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and splendid for them that have escaped of Israel.
(Isaiah 4:1-2 KJ2000)

Michael,
I’m glad you added these appropriate Scriptures to my poem AND that you found the proper link to Paul’s video. Meanwhile I replaced my former link with yours which works perfectly. Thanks a bunch, bro!! 🙂
Blessings,
Susanne

That was a very good poem. Sometimes one line can speak volumes, like this:
“Those who are aliens here on earth”
Or this:
“So they can hear the desert’s call”
And this:
“The prophets who stand in the breach”
Those three lines above describe the life of a prophet very well. A prophet experiences much rejection—especially by church people. Sometimes the life of a prophet is the most powerful sermon.
“A Prophet’s Eyes”

Thanks for the encouragement, Tim. 🙂
I wrote that poem before God plunged me into the Dark Night of the Soul Part 2 (i.e., the Dark Night of the Spirit). Meanwhile I do not know any longer whether I have anything to do or to say for God. Dying to self is really cruel and I always wonder whether there is an end in sight or not. BUT – I love the way you write poems, Tim! 🙂

I assume you are talking about THE DARK NIGHT OF THE SOUL by John of the Cross. I read that many years ago—it is a classic on deep Christian spirituality. Soon after that, I read a couple of books by Theresa of Avila. A more accessible work for most Christians might be Watchman Nee’s THE SPIRITUAL MAN.
It is beautiful how the Lord puts people in your path and books in your path for your spiritual growth.

Amen, Tim. Yes, it seems we read the same books. 🙂
I think he wants those on similar paths to encourage one another. He knows that the way of the cross is not easy.

Tim, I want to thank you for your post on your blog. It has explained so much to me about what has been going on in the last year in my life as I have been in close fellowship with one who is going through all these things described here. Like Paul said, “When one member suffers we all suffer.”

Powerful poem. A much needed and prayfully heeded warning.
