Eternal Life – in the Here and Now

Strength comes from knowing
Not from knowing that much
But from knowing the One
Who with Heaven’s sweet touch

Transforms life and longing
That was earthly and bound
By fears, grief, and sorrow
Which are truly profound

Joy comes from listening
Not from listening to talk
But from hearing your heart’s voice
That can make dead bones walk

Life comes from dying
Which though painful and hard
Is a prestage of something
That will catch you off-guard

One day you will find it
Although all hope seemed gone
When all of a sudden
You can see God’s own Son

Not as if you were dreaming
No, you’ll see Him for real
Like the sun that is rising
He will stay and will heal

At the split of a second
That will last evermore
You will sense God in all things
Since you’re pierced to the core

By His Light that is shining
To turn all inside out
That you see all Creation
And its Creator, no doubt

Circumstances are buried
In oblivion and past
And future’s big worries
Can no longer last…

For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, “In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.” (Is 30:15 ESV)

And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, you know. Again he said unto me, Prophesy to these bones, and say unto them, O you dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. Thus says the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live: (Ezek 37:3-5, KJ2000)

And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. (Jn 17:3 ESV)

Thank you, Michael, for reminding me of that Scripture in Ezekiel. 🙂

Susanne, as I read and thought on the words of your poem it reminded me of Ezek 37:3-5.
Then He personalized it in my mind just for you…

How many times have you dared not even dream that HIS Life would come into you to stay?
    No more death and dying!
“Daughter of God, shall these bones live?”
And your answer was always the same,
“Oh, Lord God, only YOU know.”
That seems to be what He waits for… no more presumption or guessing or even wishing that the death in us will end… just TRUST in Him.

Thanks again, very much, Michael. Yes, this personalized form truly touched my heart deeply. I would not say that I am already through it all, but I sense life where before was only death. For how many years? I can hardly remember. 🙄 It is a process until the Morning Star has fully risen, but what a joy when we can see Him as HE really is!

Your comment was very encouraging for me to read, Michael You have always been a great inspiration to me, my dear brother. Thank you for being YOU! 🐱

YESSS! When we have come to our wits’ end and finally give up on our old life and on trying to save or change ourselves, we can watch God transforming us by bringing the new creation into being. Then we see HE alone is GOD and He is truly WONDERFUL! 🙂

Oh, my dear sister and friend. Truly the Day Star is rising in your heart!

“We have also a more sure word of prophecy; to which you do well that you take heed, as unto a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:” (2Pet 1:19, KJ2000)
